Q1. The treaty banning nuclear weapons is going to be effect. Which country is this initiative?

Ans- United State

The United States is going to implement this treaty form on 22 January 2021. The United Kingdom, Russia, China have not yet signed the deal. According to this treaty, whichever country will ratify this, it will be important for them that they will not keep nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

Q2.  Who is launch India-Australia Circular Economy Hackathon(I-ACE)?

Ans- Atal Innovation Mission

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM- an initiative set up by NITI Aayog), in association with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), will organise a two-day hackathon on circular economy, ‘India-Australia Circular Economy Hackathon (I-ACE)’, in December 2020.The idea of I-ACE was conceived during a virtual summit on 4th June, 2020, between the Indian and Australian prime ministers, exploring innovative ways to boost the circular economy in India and Australia. I-ACE will focus on identification and development of innovative technology solutions by students, startups and MSMEs of both nations.

Q3. With whose cooperation the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has started two centers of excellence for the welfare tribal?

Ans-Art of Living

It will be launched in a collaboration between Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Art of Living (AoL). This initiative will be launched in 5 districts. It will cover 30 Gram Panchayats and 150 villages of Jharkhand. The initiative would help in creating awareness among elected representatives of PRI. It will create the tribal leaders who will work for their community in spreading this awareness. It will help tribals in getting access to these schemes. This initiative would raise awareness about various Tribal Acts and Rules and different welfare schemes available for these tribals.

Q4. Which country  have talked of being carbon neutral by 2050, to deal with climate emergency?

Ans-Japan

New prime minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga, has committed to his country on October 27, 2020  to reach a target of zero emissions of greenhouse gases. He also committed to achieve a carbon-neutral society by 2050 by a fundamental shift in policy on coal use.

Japan is the world’s third-largest economy and the fifth-largest emitter of carbon dioxide. So, the international environment groups criticized Japan intensely for continuing to build and finance coal-fired power plants nationally as well as internationally. Japan had earlier committed only to reduce emissions 80 percent by 2050. Now, however, it is following European Union that vowed to become carbon neutral by 2050. Japan supplied more than 41 percent of electricity from coal and oil in 2017, where natural gas was around 40 percent, while renewable energy was around 16 percent. Atomic energy accounts for 3 percent.

 

Q5. With which country India has signed 2 + 2 Dialog Geospatial Intelligence as per the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA)?

Ans-United State America

Recently, India has signed the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) with the USA. BECA will enable the exchange of geospatial data and information between the two countries and will improve the accuracy of India’s missiles in precision strikes. The geospatial maps and charts to be shared by BECA, will be acquired from multiple sources like satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), reconnaissance aircraft, aerostats among others. As part of measures to enhance military to military cooperation, Liaison Officers at each other's establishments could be leveraged to enhance information sharing. BECA is one of the four foundational military communication agreements between the two countries..

  2.  Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement.
  3.  Communications and Information Security Memorandum of Agreement.
