IRDA is considering a change in insurance advertising regulations.


Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has proposed to prohibit insurers from issuing advertisements that make claims which are beyond reasonable expectations of performance.These advertisements will include all those who fail to clearly identify the product as insurance and describe benefits that do not match the provisions of the policy.

Regulation Objective
Its purpose is to ensure that the insurer middleman or insurance intermediary adopts fair, honest and transparent practices while issuing advertisements.
